This week it’s all coming together with even less bathroom trips on average (just 1 trip on the first day of week 4!). And I actually went out to Target without paralyzing fear of sprinting to the nearest bathroom. Although, I will admit… I was cautious the entire time and tried to walk slowly so as to not jump start my digestive system (also it was a pretty low calorie day and I didn’t really have the energy to sprint even if I wanted to). I have been able to enjoy playing more online games with friends, where I am not getting up in the middle of a game and leaving them hanging. Best of all, I have not had to excuse myself from many work virtual meetings to head to the restroom… so productivity is up on all fronts. On the second day of week 4, I also skipped my usual 3 bathroom trips before lunch and instead had a protein shake and some cassava pasta for lunch (check out my food review for the delicious pasta here!). It wasn’t until 1:30pm that I finally went to the bathroom… and for that I was pretty amazed.
For the rest of the final week I had multiple formed BMs on several different occasions and far fewer restroom trips, less pain, cramping, bleeding, etc. I also didn’t notice this until the very end of week 4… but some other persistent symptoms (some Lyme related and some UC) that were bothering me were starting to lessen and fade away. I had been dealing with weird nerve sensations (buzzing) in my upper back, random belching during the day (always in the morning), daily tinnitus and muffled sounds in my right ear, and frequent headaches/migraines in my right eye were all starting to occur less and less with some being resolved completely. As I began to feel better and better I also picked up a new product (Paleo Protein shown on right) from the Amy Myers store (since I had been enjoying this one so much).

I wanted to grab this protein powder since my breakfast choices do not offer a wide variety and I normally lack proper protein intake in the morning (since I don’t eat eggs or most typical breakfast foods). I have been pretty satisfied so far but have only had 4 or 5 servings. It does seem to bother my stomach too much, but the jury is still out. If you want some more information on this protein leave a comment, otherwise you might see a post in the future! Overall, the powder doesn’t seem to affect my digestive system other than more gas, but then again I am only a few days into using the product.
To wrap things up on week 4, I will definitely be ordering this product again due to the success I have seen thus far. I’ll probably try another 30 days and see where I am at that point, maybe even write an un-updated post, who knows! But at this point my advice would be to talk to your medical professional before trying anything new in your routines. Those of us with Autoimmunity, Lyme, mystery illnesses or other chronic diseases tend to be a bit more temperamental and have to be careful about attempting the “shoot first” approach when trying new supplements and meds. However, I’ll consider these last 4 weeks a success that really helped further stabilize my condition (somewhat drug free)! If you followed me through all 4 weeks, then I hope you found this journey helpful. Let me know if you have tried this, or another product and what your story was like. Also, drop a comment on any other supplements or therapies that you are interested in reading about or would like to know if I have any personal experience with them myself.
